Designed circuits, 3D modelled, and fabricated larynx voice assist device. Received 2018 UBC Surgery Research Day Plenary award (team of 7).

Ultrasound Physics Modelling

Developed and programmed MATLAB physics models to recognize acoustic shadows based on ultrasonic tissue interactions (team of 3, 1 publication).

Computer Science Education

Developed (python) programming toolkits to teach medical students how to process and analyze data, particularly for AI predictive analysis (team of 3).

Medical Device Prototyping

Designed & built electronics, mechanical models, and software for medical devices such as EKGs and lesion-recognition software (team of 1-2).

Hackathons/Programming Competitions

Competed in hackathon/programming events with physicians, designers, and engineers to build solutions (won 2015 Google Games with ENPH team).

Cellphone Microscope Prototype

3D-modelled, printed, and built electronics for cellphone microscope assembly for portable magnification of tissue samples (team of 3).

Optical Resonator Microcontroller

Designed/soldered electronics and developed PID algorithm (C) for controller circuit to optimize power of laser transmission devices (team of 2).

ENPH Autonomous Robot Competition

Built navigation software (C) and laser edge-detection for ball-collecting, and target-shooting robot in engineering physics robot competition (team of 4).

Computer Architecture Design

Developed new branch-prediction algorithms (C) to improve cache performance and increase processor scheduling efficiency (team of 2)

Electromagnetic Path Rover

Build motor circuit and guidance program for self-driving rover following a path created by magnetic-field generating wire (team of 4).

Rapid Electromechanical Fabrication

3D modeled in SolidWorks, designed electronics for, 3D-printed, and laser-cut numerous small devices (e.g. lighting systems, anatomy models) (team of 1).
